I have a recipe I'd like to try that calls for a whole stick of butter or 1/2 cup oil. I've heard you can substitute applesauce for oil but is that always?
Are there any other substitutions for butter/oil? This isn't a dessert so not sure applesause will be ok.

Depending on what you are making, you can usually cut the oil/butter in half without altering the recipe...no substitutes needed.
